The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), USC Student Chapter

Weekly meetings, field trips, guest speakers, Habitat for Humanity volunteers, study groups, parties, and informal gatherings are all part of ASCE. The chapter is very active each year in the ASCE Conference which is an intercollegiate competition where the students design, build, and race in a concrete canoe; construct and test a 20-foot-long steel bridge. Other competitions at the conference include technical papers and presentations, quiz bowl, impromptu design, popsicle bridge, etc.

Associated General Contractors (AGC)

AGC competes in the annual Construction Competition of western universities, which is a simulation of real job conditions, including estimating, scheduling and project management. Every spring they cosponsor a symposium on campus in which 240 individuals from industry participate. They have monthly meetings, participate in community service projects, field trips, and guest speakers.

The Chi Epsilon Honor Society, USC Student Chapter

The junior and senior students with a GPA in the upper one third of their class are invited to join Chi Epsilon. The function of Chi Epsilon is to promote scholarship, character, practicality, and sociability.
