Sonny Astani Associate Professor Patrick Lynett has been appointed as the Inaugural holder of the John and Dorothy Shea Early Career Chair in Civil Engineering. Professor Lynett recently joined the Viterbi Faculty in Fall of 2011, but already has shown exceptional distinction and promise in his field. Professor Lynett graduated from Cornell University in 2002, with a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering. His expertise focus on coastal engineering, with a special interest in coastal hazards.
